*** Please remember that in order to perform at any event, CITY and HALAU students are required to be currently enrolled City students or halau members and participate in 4 class sessions prior to the event. ***


***Please ensure your enrollment/membership is current and to attend make-up classes as needed. ***


SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27 - With RSVP, City Students are welcome to attend 12:00 as a free trial class to review E Ala E and Hanalei Moon.

SATURDAY, MARCH 5 - MORNING DRESS REHEARSAL AT DANCE NORTH COUNTY

– 535 Encinitas Blvd, Suite #100/102, Encinitas

8:20am – DRESSED AT HALAU

8:30am – 10:00am – City & Halau ADULTS ONLY Staging and Practice (Individual Testing on E Ala E and Waiwai Ka Wa Mua)

(City Adults - hair done, black pareo over black leggings and blue pareo top, all accessories on)

(Halau Adults - hair done, black skirt over black leggings and purple pareo top, all accessories on)

10:00am – 11:30am –City & Halau KIDS AND ADULTS Staging and Practice (CITY KIDS WELCOME AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

(City Kids - hair done, white skirt over black leggings and blue pareo top)

(Halau Kids – hair done, green skirt over black leggings and purple pareo top)

12:00am – 1:30am – regularly scheduled class will be held. With instructor approval, this serves as a make-up class and will cover E Ala E, Waiwai Ka Wa Mua, E Halelu Aku Kakou Ke Akua and Hanalei Moon. (Individual Testing on E Ala E and Waiwai Ka Wa Mua)

SUNDAY, MARCH 6 – SHOW DAY at SAN MARCOS ALIVE

10:00 am - SAN MARCOS ALIVE FINE ARTS FAIR OPENS

(free parking in structure is limited so plan accordingly)

12:00 pm - ADULTS and kokua ARRIVE AT DINING ROOM - PLEASE DO NOT USE INDOOR RESTROOMS AS DRESSING ROOMS

(hair and make-up done, leggings and pareo top on), DO NOT PUT ON LEI PO'O AND KAHIKO SKIRT UNTIL AT DRESSING ROOM checked by Auntie. (There are no mirrors in dining room)

(City Adults’ Only Costume – hula hair (top half up) with lei po’o, black pareo over black leggings & blue pareo top, white shell lei

(Halau Adult Kahiko Costume – hula hair (top half up) with lei po’o, black skirt over black leggings & purple pareo top, burnt kukui lei

(Halau Adult Kane Kahiko Costume – Lei a’i, black shirt, black pants, purple kihei, kukui lei)

12:30 pm - KIDS ARRIVE AT DINING ROOM - PLEASE DO NOT USE INDOOR RESTROOMS AS DRESSING ROOMS

(hair done, leggings and pareo top on), GET DRESSED and checked by Auntie. ***ALL ADULT DANCERS READY TO HELP KIDS.

(City Kids’ Only Costume – hula hair (top half up) with hairpiece, white skirt over black leggings and blue pareo top)

(Halau Kids’ Only Costume – hula hair (top half up) with lei po’o, green skirt over black leggings and purple pareo top)

1:00 pm - ALL DANCERS DRESSED

1:15 pm - Dancers Line up at ramp in order - Auntie and Uncle to Microphones

(Stage Kokua – ALL DANCERS WHEN NOT ON STAGE, Kalani, Lola ‘Olina (?), La’ilani (?) )

1:25 pm or sooner – SHOW START WITH FIRST PERFORMERS ON STAGE BEFORE AUNTIE’S “ALOHA"
